Just another thought there is a George Harris born Poynings parish of Steyning aged 4 on 1881 your George born Sept qrt 1876 census done in June so he would have been 4 on 1881 Father Alfred Mother Elizabeth found on familysearch-sorry to put a spanner in the works it's another possible.

I can only find an Arthur Harris born 1874 Steyning Sussex. Father Stephen Mother Mary with 6 children living London Middlesex is this them have a look see what you think.
