Hi Bob
the census have never been at the LMA but at the Family records Centre which is about 5 mins walk from the LMA, However the FRC is closing from 8 th march. this is the info from the National Archives website.

Family Records Centre closure
The FRC is jointly run by the General Register Office, which is part of the Office for National Statistics (ONS), and by The National Archives. All services provided by The National Archives (including census returns and Prerogative Court of Canterbury Wills pre-1858) are transferring to Kew. These will no longer be available at The Family Records Centre after 15 March 2008. The fully integrated services will be available at Kew from 25 March 2008. ONS have announced changes to their services (birth, marriage and death registers and certificate ordering) from November 2007. Find out more on the General Register Office website.
