I have this 1841 record of Elizabeth Compton
Seeing as it is the 41..it doesn't say relationships...

So what am I looking at here.....?????
is John the father of Jane & Elizabeth...or is he dad of one of girls and father in law to the other.... must be Grandad to younger Elizabeth ????
Any other scenarios ????
Where can I go from here....not having much luck with this family

I have looked at newer census stuff first, I rather think that Elizabeth is the mother.... But John the father ??? seems a bit old ! was thinking that maybe there was another John , His son....... maybe she is daughter-in-law ?
Or maybe the girls are sisters and the child illegitimate...
Illigitimacy ???.....would this be said in IGI
THANKS

If the IGI entry Soph found for young Elizabeth is the right one then I think you are probably right - Elizabeth is Johns d-in-law married to his son.

There is also a marriage on IGI for John Compton to Elizabeth Brookfield in 1829 that is a possible
