I have found Francis William James in FreeBMD born Sep Qtr 1858 in Stroud. Does he show up in 1861 with parents and siblings please?

There's another Francis William James, born 1859, Stroud. He's also a visitor but in the home of James & Eliza Yeates in Stroud.

Thank you Mike Margaret and Jim, especially Jim for finding Francis mistranscribed in 1881 - I had already come unstuck looking in 1881!
So seems like poor Francis lost his father as an infant?

I wonder if Emily Sophia will provide the answers?
Presumably Maria Greenland was their mother.

On the 1881 census that Mike found. Henry Greenland is the head, Maria his wife. Emily Sophia is dau of wife and Francis William, son of wife. Francis born Stroud but Emily born Frome, Somerset, as is Maria. I wonder if she was born before Maria married ???James.

Free BMD:
Hannah Maria Yeates and John James both married Dec. Q 1851, Frome. To each other?
Also, Emily Sophia James born Sep. Q 1852, Frome.

Louisa Maria James born Jun. Q 1860, Stroud.

A John James died Jun. Q 1861 Frome. That quarter covers April, May, June. 61 census was taken 7 April.
