Hi can someone please look up ALONSO NEWBERY LEWIS Los Angeles County Resident 1962. Any information it gives will be much appreciated. My ancestor was born in Wales 1888.

I don't have full membership and I am not sure if this is the correct ancestor as I was told he lived in Australia!!! But with such an unusual name its worth a shot!

I went in under Australian convicts etc and it came up top of the list. I have to go out in about 10 mins so it might be several hours before I can get back to you!

Had a look for you on that database and I don't think he's yours. A bit misleading as the surname is Alonso, not the christian name

I gave saved the image for you to see for yourself. If you want it you will need to PM me your email address.

There is another AlonZo Lewis in Australia on the 1901 voters list but your Alonso would only have been 13 so it can't be him

Have been having another look and have just noticed that if Alonso and Lewis appear on the same page they are thrown up in the search.

I think my one is the one listed as Arthur Newburry Lewis 1901 - 1936 Corio Victoria. He enlisted in the first world war and his fiancee married someone else when he was away! he didn't return home and (* I've been told) he moved to Australia after the war. The family story is that he lived in Adelaide and I know he lived until between the 1970s and 80s. He never married so it is difficult to trace him. I now live in Australia and feel a connection as we are the only 2 people to move here and I would like to trace his grave (been searching for 3 years).
