Thanks Brian, did go on IGI but gave too much info. Knocked off the parents surnames and then I found her. If James 1804 is her father he was only 15? On the marriage cert a Phoebe Beall was witness. Maybe her mother, or sister possibly. Will keep searching to find what happened to her after her marriage to William Shirley in 1847. |

Does anyone have any more information on Sarah Beall born c1820-26, Brighthelmston (Brighton). She is on the 1841 census, on her own, no family. She had a daughter Sarah Frances in 1844, Woolwich naming William Shirley as father. In 1847 she married William in Charlton. On marriage certificate it gives her father as being James Beall, a labourer. She is on the 1851 census with her daughter, but no William. Cannot trace anything further about her or William. Her daughter (my ggrandmother) later married Joseph Hudson using the name of Sarah Fanny CARDEN Shirley. Not sure where the Carden comes in. |
