Thank you ladies, very very helpful. Samuel is my G/G/Grandfather, William his son, my G/Grandfather. They were born in Malmesbury, Wilts. Samuel was born 1802 the surname then was Bailey. Prior to this the family came from South Cerney, Glos.
Samuel's father was Richard, and his father was William. William worked as a Coachman at The Angel, Islington at around 1780 to 1790. I thought that this might be of interest to you.
Going back to the other William, he was a market gardener in Whitchurch and his wife Susan had a stall in Cardiff Market in 1901.
