WW2 Records
I am trying to locate my great grand parents. I do not have any information on them due to my mother never meeting them all I know is that my grandads name was Thomas Whyley he was in the Navy during ww2 when he married my grandmother Nellie Whyley he used her address on the marrige licence so we can not even trace him through a cencus I can not find a record of his birth and beleive he was born in 1910 I have added a photo of him to my family tree so if you think you can help I will give you concent to veiw it.

Cannot find a birth in 1910

Found this death which gives birth as 1914 - I wonder if he could be who you are looking for?

Wendy - are you saying he married during WW2? the marriage certificate would show his Navy number which could help you. I suppose you have no idea what your gt grandmothers maiden name was?

Thomas E Whyley married Elsie M Gee Nottingham Mar quarter of 1941 vol 7b page 745.

However not sure if Nellie is another name for Elsie so not entirely sure this is the right one!

Was your grandmothers name Ann or Joan Whyley? If so then the marriage I found was right - can you please let me know.

Hi Burnice my grandmothers name was Nellie my mother thinks his moms name was either Alice or elaine he served on the ship Glendower during the 2nd ww she also told me last night that he lied about his age becouse his age on his death certificate is different than his marrige

Edith Emily Judson married Frederick Judson 1905 at Grantham
other children they had besides Thomas E in 1914 Gratham
were Joseph H 1912 Grantham
Doris M 1920 Nottingham.
Perhaps decendents of the other 2 children could help you. Good luck Irene
