I am trying to find the parents of my maternal great grandfather Thomas Smith. I know he was born in Broseley on 14th January 1820. He later married Letica Perry, nee Roberts, in Stoke on Trent and they had a daughter, Maria, who was my grandmother. I would be grateful for any help.

Hello Val,
Thank you for your help RE Thomas Smith. I have just looked on IGI as you suggested and found the entry. It may be him, maybe he was illegitimate since no father is shown. Broseley is about 10 miles from Shipton . I have never tried leaving a message before and I was amazed at the quick response, I am going to post another message to see if I can find the mother of his wife Letitia. The facts about Maria Smith I did know. By the way the person shown as 'Novreva' Perry was actually called Minerva and was the daughter of Leticia 's first husband Edward Perry. Thank you again for your help.
