Hi
I was hoping some one would be abel to do a look up in Suffolk for me as I live In Australia
My Great Great Grandparents DAVID CULLUM and AMY LAWRENCE LAST were married 12th March 1829 at Earl Stoneham.
DAVID CULLUM was Baptised 7th October 1804 at Wetheringsett parents JUSTINIAN and MARY.
Both of these events were looked up by Sue from this site.
Thankyou very much sue.
I am now hoping to find out about the birth/baptism/Christening of AMY LAWRENCE LAST.
I know from Census records that she was most likely born at Stowupland, Suffolk or possibly Earl Stoneham, Suffolk around 1807.
On the 1851 Census there is also a FRANCES LAST living at the same address as David and Amy Cullum listed as David's Mother-in-law so one can only assume that this must be Amy's mother and she is listed as being born in 1791.
Any information on either Amy of Frances would be most appreciated
Thankyou

have you looked at the International Genealogical Index on the Mormon site??
www.familysearch.org
Click on Advanced Search, scroll down to International Genealogical Index.
It is a free site, so you can do the look up yourself
Just make sure that any records you look at are EXTRACTED from the actual records
A SUBMITTED record is just that ..... submitted by a member of the church, and may be far from accurate.

This doesn't help you with Amy's birth. I was hoping there might be a father on the scene.

Thankyou Sylvia and Ozibird for your help.

Yes I have looked at the IGI and in the past I got a little bit put off by it as I found so many mistakes once I started looking further my self and getting original BDM documents. However they were handy to get clues from as often even if the information is not entirely correct their are some grains of truth amougst it. I have just started looking at them again now that I am getting back to ancestors who predated BDM records and have found some good things there. However I have had a good look and haven't found my Amy.
Could you please tell me how I will know if a record is ESTRACTED or SUBMITTED.
Ozibird
Thankyou for the 1841 Census info but I had found that but as you say unfortunately there were no other family members on it so it didn't give many clues.
I had found the baptism of the Amy Last you posted 1800 and from what else I found on the IGi it looks like both Amy the baby and Amy Lawrence the mother died shortly afterwards
I think my Amy Lawrence Last must be connected I,m not sure how. I wondered if maybe this is her Auntie? and Cousin? or something and she has been named after one or both of them, possibly even a second marriage?
The puzzle goes on but thankyou very much anyway and hopefully some one may still be able to look things up for me at the Records Office.

Hi Mabel
when you open the record on IGI, scroll down to the bottom and it will tell you whether it is extracted or submitted.
If it is extracted, it will also show a Batch Number
If you click on that, it will take you to another search form.
Fill in the surname and then click search
That will search for all people with that surname christened (or married) in that parish ..... this means you can find siblings if you are lucky!
OR ........... if you know the father's name and a mother's name and want to know what children they might have had, go to the International Genealogical Index form, fill in the boxes to the right for father's and mother's name, year +/- 20, and if you are lucky, you will get the listing of at least some children born of parents with those names.
Of course, you then have to do some searching to ensure that they are "yours".
