Hi Teresa,

I was wondering if you or anyone in your family knew a Bella Rae. When my Grandmother died, we came across old letters showing that she was actually "adopted" as a new born baby in 1908 and that her real mother was Mrs Bella Rae c/o Mrs Virtue, 47 Montrose Terrace, Edinburgh but we feel she came from Dundee originally and was just staying with 'Mrs Virtue'. There is another letter from a Mr James P Watson, 21 Jeffrey Street, Edinburgh.) which confirming he would visit the mother and baby with my adoptive Great Grandfather. She was adopted by Mr David and Mrs Frances Mitchell (nee Dall).

Kind regards
Carol Vaughan (nee Barter)
