I have Thomas' marriage cert and it shows who is dad is. On the application form for birth cert it asks for mothers name. Jones is so popular i wanted to give as much info as i could.

Henry H. Jones 32
Roseann Jones 3 b Tunstall
Thomas Jones 6 b Burslem Staffordshire

If it is the right couple in 1871 they were living with John's mother and her children, in Tunstall, presumably having just been married. Henry's wife Ann M was listed as born in Hanley Staffordshire

There is marriage for the area of Wolstanton area for a Henry Jones and Ann Jones or Roberts and it ties in reasonably well with Annie Marie below in the 1861 census born in Handley in Staffordshire. However I stress that this is only my thoughts and may be completely the wrong family if the 1881 census is incorrect

Thomas is unfortunately such a common name if the family is correct and you may be better checking Henry's daughter Roseann's birth listed below to confirn his wife's maiden name

You would normally do it the other way round, the B/C for mothers maiden name & then look for a marriage

Do you have them on any census, and we'll see what we can find

My great great grandfather was Henry Jones from Tunstall in Staffs. Trying to find who he married i think her name might of been Ann. They had a son called Thomas. Need this information so i can obtain a birth certificate.
