Haha!! thankyou David :~)
It looks like it may be the way I do it, unless the person has the time to send me the genealogy report and I really dont like to ask people to give up too much of their time!!

The good news according to the help blurb on the tree page is you can copy information from one tree, then paste it into the relevant box on the other.

The bad news? It has to be at least 10 times slower, and much more tiring, than writing everything down on a piece of paper. If 2 large trees are involved, change the 10 to 20.

Val.

My suggestion would be to contact that person and ask if they could email you a gedcom. I found it very confusing trying to copy the information from another's tree. And if there is a connection, a gedcom would be a lot easier to upload the information to your data file. Or, if they can't provide a gedcom, ask them to email you a genealogy report.

Not yet discovered a way of printing anything sensible off another tree
Even if you do manage to print off a bit of tree you still have to write down all the information by hand . How annoying is that !!
