Ages ago I went to the Essex records office and just took note of all births marriages in Thorpe Le Soken Essex..
I found my GG Grandfather ROBERT DAY b1829
I have since found him in the 1841 census, he is 12 years old living with siblings , an ANN HEWITT 45, and Mary Ann Hewitt aged 8.
I guessed his father had died and mother Ann was remarried to a Hewitt (he was no where to be seen)
Amongst the marriages I had listed GEORGE DAY married ANN LEVERICK (very bad writing ),
There was a number of births for a George and Ann Day, one of them was Robert.
I ordered the wedding cert for Robert Day and it told me his fathers name was GEORGE
There was only one George and Ann DAY, so I presume these were his parents......................
HOWEVER....I cant find where George was born...and no record of a Leverick family anywhere in Essex.... This is driving me to distraction !!!
I searched for marriage for Ann to a Hewitt...nothing...just find myself going in circles...
Any help ? Advice ??
Many thanks
Gloria
