On the marriage reference Annie doesn't have a middle name:-

Annie Breward to William A. Jones
June qtr. 1924, Leicester, 7a, 620

Do you have the marriage certificate? If not you need to get it as it will have her age and her father's name and occupation which will help finding the right birth certificate for her.

You will not get any more information from the birth registration above ................ unless you BUY the birth certificate itself


To do that, you need to look on www.freebmd.org.uk ................. you can do this yourself as it is free ..... find the birth reference, and note down the two sets of numbers that are also shown on there.


Then you go to www.gro.gov.uk, click on ordering Certificates Online, and follow instructions. They will ask for the GRO reference numbers ................ those are the two sets of numbers you found on freebmd.

Each certificate costs £7 ........ but you will find out the names of her parents, mother's maiden name, where she was born and where they lived.


That information is available nowhere else.

Looking at the dates of her birth and her parents marriage, both were registered in the March quarter 1905 ........... but she is registered in her mother's surname


.............. so she may well have been born before her parents married.

The question to be asked if that is the case is ...... did she change her name legally?

thanks for the info but the marriage of annie breward in 1924 is a mystery she married a willaim jones leicester i know this from a family member and im trying to find out more also on willaim jones in led to believe he was born in ireland under the surname dodge
