HI Margaret thanks for the info everything helps...he is on my tree he was born in 1872 the son of James and Ansley Eager ........not the alfred that i was looking for but thats a bit more info for my tree that i didn,t have so thankyou very much.......GARY....

The age certainly doesn't match here but on the Ellis Island site there's an Alfred James Eager aboard the Olympic in 1913. Trouble is he's 40 years old but he is from Newhaven. His next-of-kin is wife Mrs. Eager, 23 South Rd., Newhaven. His occupation is ship (something?)
Actually there's a line drawn through his name so perhaps he didn't make the voyage after all.

HI Margaret i am not sure if that was him or not i have read about this but as yet not been able to confirm but it is very possible as we have had a few Eagers on the life boat Alfreds father Edward Eager was coxwain of newhaven lifeboat 1905 -to about 1909

Sorry cant help. However is this the same Alfred Eager that received a bronze medal in 1944 for lifeboat rescue in NewHaven

I have been told that my grt uncle was a stoker on the s.s.queen mary his name was Alfred Eager b.1899 Newhaven Sussex does anyone have access to crewlists for the s.s.queen mary so that i can confirm if this info is correct or not i would be very greatfull for any info.........Thankyou..........
