Have you tried the local family history society?

Most usually have booklets/cd's with information, available to buy. Some arent that expensive either.

Gail,

On the Cathedral's website http://www.brechincathedral.org/content/main_page.php?page_id=44

it states that;

"The Cathedral welcomes enquiries from those researching their family history. People get in touch with us from all over the world, trying to find a record of their forebears in Brechin - either at the Cathedral Kirkyard, the local cemetery, or in the many historical minutes and records we hold in the Cathedral's vaults.

We have volunteers who will be only too happy to help you with your search. Complete records of all who are buried in the Kirkyard are available. We also have records of infant Baptisms in Brechin, as well as Minute Books and church records dating back through the centuries in which family names can appear.

Please contact the Cathedral Office by email, or download and return the form below - and we will supply you with the required information. We would appreciate a £10 donation by cheque to the ongoing work of the Cathedral, for the time and effort of our willing volunteers"

They have a contact page should you wish to email them with any queries.

Hope this helps

Helen

When I visited Scotland a couple of years back Brechin Cathedral, Angus Scotland were trying to computerize their Gravestones and have it up and running by June. Would anyone know if this was completed and if there might be a booklet/ book that one could purchase?

Thankyou
Gail
