New tack with the Wagenhausers. I have identified a branch of the family who emigrated from the UK to Canada. the unit consisted of William Albert, born Birmingham England 1880, his wife Emma Anna M, born in South Africa in 1884, and daughter, Muriel also born in South Africa, c.1906. i would love to hear from anyonw who thinks they might have information about Emma. This family arrived in New York in 1912, en route to Vancouver. again, all information greatfully recieved.

Thanks Chris. the German side is one I haven't looked at much yet, as I am unsure of when Peter arrived in the UK. He is listed in the 1891 census, with family born in the UK, including the wife. I am estimating arrival pre 1875. I have however found John Edward, his son, in South Africa.
Peter has listed as his birthplace in the census "Krewzshal" on searching the net, hoever, I cannot find this place. Anyone with any ideas??

Hi Anne

I just used a German Genealogical search engine (similar to Ancestry / GR etc. - and the only Wagenhäuser families that seem to consistently come up is in and around Astheim which is NOT in Bavaria! - However I do know that the kingdom of Bayern used to be much bigger so maybe .....

There is a Peter Johann Wagenhauser listed - bt not much details - maybe make contact with the person (might need to do this via someone who can write passable german).

The website link is
