Hi

Trying to trace desendants of my g grandfather William Hackman b1880 Godalming, Surrey. married Florence hawkins from Weymouth march 1917 in Chertesey.

father : William hackman 1846 Surrey
Mother: Charlotte Hughes 1853 Hampshire

Siblings all born in Godalming, Surrey

Annie c 1882
Charles c1883
Edith c1885
Frederick c1887
Edward c1889
Alfred c1891

We know little about my great grandfather and his family so if anyone can help, please get in touch.

None of the siblings are in anyone's tree so finding it really difficult.

Julie, a quick question, there was a rumour that he was married before as he was quite a bit older than my ggrandmother. i have done a search on bmd and it has come up with Sept 12th 1912 - Gwendoline Weller in Kingston??? Is there anything i can do to find out more?

Sorry should of explained that a bit better.

In the Green bar at the top there is a tab called Search trees...if you click on that and put in the search

Hackman...Godalming...1885 +/- 5

it will bring up other people on this site that have the childrens name in their tree

I do hope that makes sense

2 have Edward
2 have Frederick
3 have Charles..but 2 have him born 1884
3 have Annie

The 3 are the same people..so i would say thaey were a good match

Oopsy were typing at the same time

Your question about the other marriage..the only thing to know for sure would be to buy it unfortunately
The only good this is that Kingston is not that far from Chertsey

Thats what i was thinking.

Looked for the death of Gwendoline but can't find one. I am assuming that they didn't divorce. Well if it is the same William j. Hope he wasn't a bigamist! lol
