I am trying to find the death cert of Thomas WIlson (farmer) who died in 1855 in Ayrshire. I have details of an Inventory and Trust Dispostion at Ayr court on 23.7.1855. According to the 1851 census, Thomas Wilson was about 78 then. Any help would be gratefully received!

Hi Carolyn

Don't see him on ScotlandsPeople. Are you sure the death occurred in 1855 (rather than 1854, which would make this much more difficult)?

If you have year of his birth from his age add a year on it then you may find him as sometimes the person is out by 1 year

Thanks - I will buy the will and see if there are any more clues. It will be just my luck if he died in 1854 and they just took their time about registering the will etc!

Well I've checked and it looks as if he died either on 3.1. 1855 or 3.1.1854 - different dates given so I am just out of luck this time...
