There are some church records for Takeley available here

http://tlhs.org.uk/

I have also been looking for your family on 1851 - It is interesting that the whole of Takeley seems to be missing from the Census which is why you cannot find them.

I did find something interesting on 1841 - There is a Benjamin Savill c 1811 born in Takeley - his father appears to have been a George, BUT, if you go to the page which he is on, I believe there are some other Savil / Savile etc on the same page which do not appear to have been transcribed from the page - There is a 20 year old Jane at top of right hand side of page + a 2 year old + Elizabeth who is 60 who could be her mother, and a Milly? 17, who could be a sister?

Further down, there is a Samuel 65 with wife Martha (65) and daughter Elizabeth (30).

I f you bring up 'others on page' with Benjamin, these people do not appear.

The writing is poor but I believe these are all different spellings of Saville and in such a tiny area, I am sure they will be related in some way.

I have tried to follow them to connect but it does not help that the area is missing on following census.

Anyway, perhaps you would like to have a look and see what you can find?

This is the reference but you need to look at the actual image:

Benjamin Savill
Age: 30

Sarah Savill 24

P.S. - By the way - On the 1841 I do not believe the image says Sarah - I believe this is actually AAron - Age is in the male column and says 4 months - this would fit with Aaron registered March Q 1841 in Dunmow. - He appears again in 1861.

the families from dunmow were called Savill.

there were about 140 of them in 1841 in dunmow district.

you could contact st mary the virgin church in gt dunmow and ask if they keep marriage records there of 1835 and ask what info a marriage would show you, would it say who her parents were etc..

This is one last attempt before I leave this as an official dead end.

My 4th great grandmother was Isabella Savil. She married my 4th great grandfather George Ward on the 24th December 1835.

She gives her birth year as 1816/1817 and that she was born in Essex.

In 1841, it shows her birth year as about 1821 and born in Essex. She is living with George and their first three children John, William and Sarah.
1851, I cant seem to find them. Although I think George was in Surrey as a visitor.
1861, born in 1817, Essex and living with all her family.
1871 and 1881 her birth date is 1817/1818 and from Great Dunmow, Essex.

Isabella died on 31/10/1886 in Little Canfield, Essex.

The problem is, we cannot for the life of us find out who her parents are. We have tried the family historian for Essex, internet records ect ect.

Is there anything else we could try before leaving her as a dead end?

Thanks,
Mandy
