Suzi, can't see why Robert would be born in Rochdale then move to Hulme then back to Rochdale unless he could see into the future and is (was) laughing at my feeble attempts to trace him!

Have just bought 1890 marriage cert for Robert Scotson b.1872 to Elizabeth Turner b.1874. Roberts father is listed as John Scotson, plumber of 138 Drake Street Rochdale. I cannot find any trace of John on any census. Am STUCK. Can anyone help please?
