Hi - I am trying to look on Free BMD site, but am having trouble opening the original certs.

Could someone kindly take a look for me. I am looking for Ann Orton (nee Steel) who was married to James Orton in 1849 - Leicester.

I have her in census in 1851, & 61 - but no trace of her in 1871 - her children are with their grandmother - no sign of Ann.
So assume she either re-married or died??

Need to check the following: (Help appreciated)

Death Mar 163 Leicester 7a 135
Marriage Sept 1863 7a 318
Marriage June 1865 7a 291

or anything anyone can find about her (or her husband)
Many thanks

Sam

Hi Gillian

You can't open original certs. All you can get is the GRO reference numbers (which you have) to enable you to buy the relevant certificate. You can't look atr the details on the cert any other way.
