3 Rosebery Avenue.

He's a potman at a public house. There's a Carter family at the same address.

Ozi.

Dare I ask what a potman was?

Linda... I thought it was basically a washer-upper... but apparently it is a term for the person who collects dirty glasses from the tables... a fairly lowly job.

Coincidentally I have some connections in St Pauls Rd, Thornton Heath.. in the 1930's.... !!

Hi Iris
At least that job wasn't as bad as I thought. I imagined Potsman to have something to do with emptying toilet facilities....
The Iversons my grandpa visited in 1928 were living at no 18 st Pauls Rd. I was trying to work out if one of ALfred Iversons children might have been married to my Grandpas uncles. Their family name was Peck. I have his photos from the trip and am trying to sort out who was who. I also have his trip diary in which the addresses were entered. Do you know any way of finding out who lived at an address 1928?
Cheers
Linda
