Looking in 'phone books I found a P M Macleod living at 22 Terrapin Rd Tooting from 1927 to 1929. |

I wish I knew the conection between my mother and Evelyn G.F., I only know that she was my godmother, I dont recall ever meeting her though I must have done at some stage, maybe only as a baby |

Gwendolen became a nun I think wisechild. It's mentioned a few pages back. Nuns galore it seems!! Her brother William, was a missionary student.....so, quite a religious family. |

Thanks for that Chris, whoever taught Diane did a good job, she spoke beautifully and had a very extensive vocabulary. Seems to me she wasted her life as with the vivid imagination that she had she could have earned a fortune as a novelist |

Unless Diane worked after her marriage, she wouldn´t have had an NI number. They weren´t issued until 1948 when the welfare state started. |

I have also been trawling 'phone books and directories 1924-1938 to see which Macleod's were living in the Tooting area. One looked a good poss but then I dismissed it. Will post details tomorrow -too tired now! |
