Hi, wondering if anyone could please do lookup in the Scotland census for my James McCall, b 1855 in Lanarkshire, I believe. No info on his father but his mother was Helen .... he married Catherine (could be with a "K") (nee Stirling) date unsure, they had one child, Agnes, b c1878 in Lanarkshire. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated, ie. birth/marriage/addresses/dates!

Sorry, think I replied to your message by clicking on your name, instead of clicking on "reply" (the page is new from the last time I used it!!). Thought I'd reply this way, you were wondering what my initial request was.....
I completely got the wrong surname (don't ask.... bit embarrassing!), for Catherine (have seen it spelled with a K in censuses too) is DIAMOND. I received info from you for a marriage, 1873 Tradeston, Glasgow for James McCall & Catherine Diamond - I am almost certain this is it!! Many thanks. Also, my Agnes McCall was born in 1877 (I always thought it was 1878) in Glasgow. So it all fits!!
I was wondering if you know how to go about ordering a marriage certificate for James and Catherine(K)?? Also, do you know if there are proper birth certificates to be ordered too (I have a copy of Agnes' birth cert. but not very legible, think I got it on Scotlands People and had to pay credits, cost me a fortune searching...
Also, was wondering if there are ANY more records AT ALL on Scottish Censuses for James and/or Catherine and their families... really want to find more Scottish relatives! One other thing.... have you any way of searching Irish records, don't know where to start to trace Helen McCall (one thing I remember is my mom telling me that her gran (Agnes above) always said her gran was from Ballymena - possible?? Helen shows on the 1881 Scotland Census as being 60 years old (so born c1821, Ireland).
Incidentally, James, Catherine and Agnes show on the 1891 Census in England where they lived the rest of their lives.

Yes, this is my James and Catherine! Thank you, have a copy of that record. Got additional info from Frank - looks like I found James and Catherine's marriage (I somehow got my "wires crossed", bit embarrassing... I seemed to remember that Catherine's maiden name was Silver.... it was DIAMOND, haha). Anyway, can now order a marriage cert., if I find out how!
