Please may ask for a lookup on John Francis Evelyn Morley
Births Sep 1879
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Morley John Francis E Steyning 2b 294

Parents were divorced 1882 and mother got custody. Name of Mother was Annie Geraldine Morley (nee Lloyd). Someone has indicated that there may be a probable remarriage at St George's, Hanover Square in Sep 1884 to Adolphus Brett Crosbie or George Edward Rose 1a 798

Any assistance would be welcome

Thanks

Dennis

Have you found him on any of the censuses?

Dennis

Dennis Report 30 Jan 2010 18:54

No, sorry. One other piece that may help find the mother is that she was born in Paris in 1854.

Julie Report 30 Jan 2010 18:56

Seems a bit of a coinsdence (sp) that the is an Anne Geraldine Lloyd in that same qtr

Do you know who she is

Is there any chance you can nudge your other thread regarding this Lady as i know i have helped with her before & i need to refresh my memory

Dennis

Dennis Report 30 Jan 2010 19:05

Hi Julie

The Anne G Lloyd is possibly Annie Morley as Lloyd was her maiden name which she probably reverted to after the divorce. I'm unsure of which of the males in this section she may have married and was hoping the 1891 census would show her under the new married name with a son called John b.1879.

Regard

Dennis

Her first marriage at age 15 or 16 was to Wilbraham Morley
Marriages Sep 1870
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
LLOYD Annie Geraldine Portsea 2b 695
MORLEY Wilbraham Evors E Portsea 2b 695

UPDATE

This is definitely the right Ann as both her maiden and married name are recorded in 1884 - I've come across this happening in other remarriages when they are entered on BMD

Still doesn't have a mention though of what happened to John Francis Evelyn Morley from Anne's first marriage (divorce gave her sole custody)

UPDATE - sorry did not notice it had gone to page two - thanks for the information on his returning to UK but who did he go with when he left and when??

ancestry transcriber made a real mess up of this entry. They combined about 3 households

As regards J F E Morley ................ the enumerator first wrote SON in realtionship column, then crossed it out and replaced it with " (ditto) to match the entrey Boarder for the 3 men ahead of him on the entry.
