Hello, would someone please be kind enough to find Thomas Stone who was born 1852 Tiverton, Somerset on the 1861 census and also some information on his parents (who I don't know who they are at this time).

No Thomas Stone at Tiverton which is in Devon.

This is the only one born Devon, and about 13 miles from Tiverton.

I can't find this Thomas again. I also can't find Mary Anna again. Did they emigrate? Do you know the names of any of their children?

Hi Ozi,

Thomas and Mary Anna STONE did emigrated to NZ in 1874. I have found them in NZ. I was trying to find out more about Thomas as I have extensively looked into Mary Anna's family from Sampford Arundel.

Ozi, you could have found the right Thomas Stone born in Skilgate as the year of birth is the closet to his actual year of birth of 1852. Probably the only way to be sure is to order Thomas' and Mary's marriage cert.

Can someone please help me find their burial place in the South Island of New Zealand.

Thomas Stone died (from NZ BDM) 1927 and Mary Anna Stone died 1908 (from NZ BDM). I've searched the Christchurch Library cemetery database and the Ashburton Councils database. Any other suggestions please.

I'm going to our local library tomorrow after work where they have a Burial disc for New Zealand. Hopefully it will tell me what cemetery your Thomas and Mary Anna died in.

I will be leaving around 8pm to go to work - will be 10pm your way if in NZ. Will check computer before I go.

Thanks, Fingers cross you find something. I received an email back from Selwyn Council in the South Island and they have no 'Thomas or Mary Ann STONE ' family buried there. Thanks again.

There is no records at all for a Thomas Stone buried in 1927 born 1852 Somerset. Tried other dates to see if they add up. One in Chch for 1927 but he was 20 or so years too young.

Nothing showed up for Mary Anna or Mary Stone dying in 1908 or any other relevant date.

Could they have gone overseas, such as Australia?

I have been researching my family tree and have a Thomas Stone who lived in Skilgate Somerset, he immigrated with his family on The Wild Deer to New Zealand in 1875
