Hello,
I'm trying to find my great great grandmother Alice Watley (1879c)
She apears in the 1901 Census living in Somerset with her husband to be Joseph Henry Webber and his family, but I cant seem to find her anywhere else.

I can't find a birth certificate for her and I dont know who her family or parents are.

Oh yes, Esther! They weren't anywhere near the prim and proper Victorians that the history books would have us believe!

Although it is possible that it was entirely innocent, especially if the families knew each other.

I did notice that they got married in the 1st Qtr of 1902 and their first child was born in the 2nd Qtr of 1902.

There you go then! I do think the country people tended to have a much (ahem) healthier attitude to life!
