Almost sure this is that 1901 family in 1911, Frederick's occupation matches (it says carman contractor on both) - image is appalling, I think the ink in their pen ran out!! |

But that knowledge doesn't help you find Reuben's parents if you do not have this or his birth cert. |

Reuben Saunders married Julia Denahy 14.9.1919, at St. James Plumstead, they had a daughter Ruby Violet, born 3.1.1922 at Woolwich, and a son Frederick, not sure of birth date. |

So have you got Reuben's marriage cert for his father's name? Or his birth cert as there seems to be just one: |

Hi Flick, It's a co-incidence, but my Charlotte is married to Frederick W. Saunders, their children were Ethel born c1893, Frederick G, born c1897, Reuben A, born c1898. Frederick was born c1869, and Charlotte c1873. I am pretty sure this is the right family (1901 census), as I definitely have a Reuben Arthur, he is my daughter's great grandfather. |

This will confirm Charlotte's maiden name...IF the 1911 is the right family |

I have just found 2 entries on FreBMD for Frederick W Saunders married at Tunbridge. one is Dec 1890 2a 1191, and June 1892 2a 1161. One of these may fit, as I know my ex husband was born at Tunbridge, so the family could have been there back in the late 1800's |

Oops, I just realized the Frederick I found was Frederick T Saunders, the name and area fit, on the 1901 census he is listed as Frederick W. Now I am not sure if it is the same person |
