Find Ancestors

Please can some help me to move forward on this side of my family?
Thomas Poole born in 1854 in Watford, Hertfordshire is my Great Grandfather. I can trace the family back to John Poole born in 1794 and his wife Elizabeth who was born in Brighton. However apart from knowing that Elizabeth was a Marine Store Dealer, the same age as John and that they were living at Amberly Mews, Kensington, St. Mary London I am stuck

I would really appreciate any help at all, but especially who are Elizabeths parents, what were they doing in Kensington, etc.

My goodness what a lot of quick responses. I was reviewing what I had first written in answer to Ginny.
Now it is time to say Thanks to everyone who has posted and a very humble Sorry from me.

The couple I am trying to find more info about are John Poole born circa 1794 born in Bushy ( 1841census) and his wife Jane (surname unknown) born in Dorset in1798 and died in 1872.

I have noted all the entries and this afternoon I shall look at them all very closely and alter anything that I need to do on my tree.

I will try to look in frequently throughout the day,to hot to sit outside!!!

I can trace the family back to John Poole born in 1794 and his wife Elizabeth who was born in Brighton.

John b 1794 had a wife Elizabeth or Jane?

Do you have John 1794 on a census?

I think John poole b. 1794 married Jane
This JOhn Poole is not on 1841 census but Jane is. (see above)
they are the parents of
JOhn b. 1822 married Elizabeth
Thomas b. 1826 married Annie Mead --> Thomas Poole b. 1853

I have just had a quick look at all the replies. Thank you everyone. Your quick responses are truly amazing.

If I work on the idea that John Poole b 1794 married Jane, how do I find
a ) where she was born.
B ) what was her maiden name..

I hsve found it difficult to really tie down any finding on a census as there are quite a few John Poole.
