My great x 3 grandmother was Charlotte Keylock etc (as above). From her daughter's marriage certificate her husband's Christian name was William. |

The marriage certificate I have is that of Harriet Kaylock to Charles Jennings, 7/12/1851, St Mark's Parish Church in the city of Gloucester. Her father is William Kaylock, Driver, it does not say deceased but as Charlotte is a widow in 1851 I assume he was. |

Yes Ann, those are the marriages that I found, but on the Forest of Dean site. |

Am I correct in thinking that Harriet is your ancestor for definite and you have only discovered that her father was William from her marriage certificate? |

She has the baptism but no mother's maiden name on it! |

Harriet, baptized 1832, is definitely my ancestor and I have certificates from my Grandfather going backwards to verify this. Her mother was Charlotte from census records 1841-1871 where she is either raising her children alone or later living with Harriet's sister Selina or with her grandchildren (1871) after the death of their mother. |

So you have the name Charlotte from the census ? |

Charlotte does say she is a widow on the 1851 Census ....... but that, as we all know, doesn't mean anything! |

If you have all the children's baptisms and yet you only discovered William's name from a marriage cert, I'm guessing his name doesn't appear on those baptisms ? |

I didn't only discover William's name from the marriage certificate, I had that first but Victor, who does Gloucestershire look ups, found these baptisms for me. |
