Thank you so much for your advice. I am speculating that Jane was her 'pet' name given by the family, I seem to recall Joan from somewhere. No doubt it will come to me in the middle of the night!

Do you have daughter Jeannie's birth cert.?
If you don't then you should start by buying a copy to confirm mother's name and maiden name.

Also you can not view online at Scotlandspeople births within the last 100 years - marriages I think are 75 years and deaths 50 years - but the site would give you the details needed to order the cert.

There are a few Jane Webster's in Renfrewshire but none with a similar date of birth or in Greenock.
You could do with having a look at Scotlands census for 1911, but you need credits for that too.

Thanks for the information, it could well be him. I'm afraid that I have very little to go on here only the fact that their daughter Jeanie was born in 1923 in Greenoch Renfrewshire.

Is there any site of a Jane Webster in the same area around the same time please?

Does any kind person have access to marriage records for Greenoch, Renfrewshire?

I am interested in knowing the marriage dates for Peter Bissett who married Jane Webster possible around 1910 - 1923 who I believe were married in the Greenoch area.

Even better if someone could give me details of parents.
