I know very little about him Dea but I do know a fair bit about his son Benjamin (born 1803 in Knighton, Leicestershire). Uncle has a POOR RELIEF document that shows this 1803 Benjamin moved from KNEETON to CAR COLSTON and that his parents were Benjamin Mellors and Ann Abbott.

Have traced all of Ben and Ann's children and now know that Ann died in Knighton in 1815. However, neither of us can find a trace of Benjamin in Knighton and we're beginning to think he moved the family over the county boundries and settled in Kneeton.

Looking at the notes I made when I had an Ancestry sub it appears he married again, wife's name SARAH? Completely forgot to make a note of any children they may have had. Don't think Ben makes it to the 1851 Census. Possible he died c1845, Bingham District.

That looks like my fella Chris, I do have a missing Thomas Mellors born 1811 as the son of Ben and Ann, no trace of him in KNIGHTON.

FMP does have the following fella living in the right district in 1841 though the age is way off.

MELLOWS, Benjamine born 1766.

There's also a couple of Thomas MELLOWS of the right age living in Notts. Would be grateful if someone could check those out.
