after a very long delay I have just found Josiah R Harris in the 1871 census. The problem is he is called James Harris and is not a hair dresser but a clerk. He is married to Ellen (nee Brooks) in my family tree. Class: RG10; Piece: 607; Folio: 33; Page: 3; GSU roll: 818910 |

Josiah has been mis-transcribed as Joseph on the 1861 census. On the image, it clearly reads......Josiah. |

Prickly - I would love a copy of the marriage in 1869. Where do you get these online. My ancestry and Genes accounts do not allow seeing the cert without paying - which site do you use? Peter |

Thank you very much for this. Josiah R HARRIS is a big breakthrough. By the way my 1901 Helen HARRIS is definitely correct. Living with Edw OWEN, my great uncle. |

It would help to able to find a Josiah Richard Harris in the 1851 or 1861 census with father William a Hair Roper........so that we could establish when and where he was born. |
