Looking at the original entry of the 1939 register it looks like the name change to Constance Peggy Day was entered onto the register on 11th March 1946 in Willesden (BXA is the code for Willesden). |

oh thank you everyone-yes indeed -Margaret was her elder sister -and took me years to find as only recently its got easier! but sadly no she wasn't-the other sibling Charles Junior I traced too - he never saw or heard of Constance again after they were separated up. |

The Day(Dalton) means that on 29 Sep 1939 she was using Dalton as her surname. |

If she married a Wilkinson, that would have been indicated on the register. You could always buy the MC to check. Mind you, if she’d been fostered from such an early age, she might not have known her father’s name. However, it would give her declared age. |
