Well, after the resounding success with the Skeels look up yesterday, could I ask for another one please?

Frances 1922 (died 1939, so not sure if before or after register was compiled)

Frances died the first quarter of 1939, so would not appear on the 1939 register taken in September

Spot on, thanks AQ! Having looked at Frances's death it was before the register, so I think 2 of the closed records would be 2 more evacuees.

The image does not show the evacuee with them - just the parents and the 4 closed records.

Thanks Dea- I deleted the extra person on the transcription after looking at the original. The extra person was actually at the next property

Flip Report 24 Dec 2017 10:23

Strange, that the transcription originally showed 1 evacuee? I know they only had 3 children, and as AQ pointed out one of them died before the register was compiled

Sorry AQ I see you posted whilst I was typing. Pretty sure they did take in evacuees though, but they will be the 2 extra closed records.

I know I'm being cheeky, but could someone check another one for my uncle please?

John Kerr born 1915 (Barrow in Furness)
Mabel Kerr b 1913 (reg Q1 1914) they married 1937 and had 1 son prior to 1939 register - John A born 1938.

I'm trying to find John's death, Mabel died in 2005 but I can't find John's without any degree of certainty. At some point they moved to Hull, but after the 1939 register.

Many thanks all. That was the death I was considering Andy - so the dob confirms it's him. Strange though, he never had a middle name which is why I doubted it was the right one.

Three trees on Ancestry have his name as John Joseph.

Flip

Flip Report 24 Dec 2017 12:26

Thanks Margaret, it certainly looks like him - although neither his birth or marriage have a second name - the extra name first appears on the 1939 register where he is recorded as John J.
