Assuming Edwin and Gertrude had the same mother, you can rule out Rhoda, as she marrried in 1877, so wouldn't be Gertrude's mother.

Rhoda Baker
in the England & Wales, Civil Registration Marriage Index, 1837-1915
Name: Rhoda Baker
Registration Year: 1877
Registration Quarter: Oct-Nov-Dec
Registration district: Gloucester
Inferred County: Gloucestershire

Similarly, Gertrude was born after Eliza's marriage:

Marriages Jun 1880 (>99%)
Baker Eliza Ledbury 6a 763
Moreton James Ledbury 6a 763

Caroline and Emma /Emily only married after Gertrude's birth, so either of them could be the children's mother:

Caroline Baker

Name: Caroline Baker
Registration Year: 1884

Christine
Thank you very much love, it says baptised much marcle [sher said he was b stroud] which might be as it only 20 miles away as the crow flys, so Edwin was born a ba----d .
It does not say who is dad was but I would like to know how old lucy was and being a baker, were the heck does she come into my bakers, now the bakers [my family] are all over the world mostly USA and aus over the 10/15 or so years I have been chiping at the bakers and emailed aus/usa time and again phoned some in Herefordshire, usa, and spent a bit of money NEVER as anyone said any thing about a lucy baker till last week I am stumped.
now when my g/aunt Gertrude docked at Bristol from USA in the mid 1920s with 2 of her 3 kids.

she said and I QUOTE I have come here to see my brother I don't know where to start.
now Edwin had 3 girls, I] Florence Penelope b 1908,marr Arthur bolwell 2 kids authur j 1940, phillip 1942, Arthur marr Diana m roe 1968 at Bristol.
2] elsie jane b 1903 marr George Stanley coombs m 1931 they had 2 kids ann 1932-1932, roger edwin1937-1994.
3] joyce mary marr Raymond f j cook m 1938 that is all I have on them

what still gets me is why did felix take him in and called him g/son and not no his mother??????????????????????????????????]
