hi
Can anyone see on the 1901 census wether samuel catlow born approx 1860 to isaac catlow , possibly in Bolton Lancashire, is still with his wife sophia annie catlow nee ford who he married in burnley in 1882. ?
He was in trouble for trying to kill her in 1897 and i wondered if they continued to liv with each other after this.
He or she woud still be living in burnley perhaps in 1901?
thanks :-)

yes, thats them. She must have seen sense and not taken him back then. Wonder how long he got for his prison sentence. Goodness they sent him a long way from home. Deserved as well as it was attempted murder and he told police he would finish her off once he got out of prison.
He died in an asylum in 1921 . She lived a longer and hopefully peaceful life.
Thanks for that andrew. Is sam to be found on the 1911 census ?
I was just curious as to how long a sentnce he would get for attempted murder ? :-S

Goodness, sentences were severe then wernt they ? Twenty years for wounding and it looks like he served at the very least 14 years. Mnd you , he intended to kill her and said he would finish the job when he got out. How times have changed. Or perhapshe came up for parole and never said he was sorry. ?
Wonder if he came back to burnley in 1912. :-S
