Further PM from Cedric:

"I'm struggling to find my way with GR. It's quite different to what it was several years ago.
Hope I don't accidentally annoy anybody, if I do then apologise. "

Have advised him to communicate on the thread.

In 1949, on his own, presumably unmarried:

Stanley Jay
in the Australia, Electoral Rolls, 1903-1980
Name: Stanley Jay
Gender: Male
Electoral Year: 1949
Subdistrict: Cobargo
State: New South Wales
District: Eden Monaro
Country: Australia

1954, at an address in Murray Street, with Rita Margaret:

Stanley Jay
in the Australia, Electoral Rolls, 1903-1980
Name: Stanley Jay
Gender: Male
Electoral Year: 1954
Subdistrict: Moruya
State: New South Wales
District: Eden Monaro
Country: Australia

He's a factory hand, she's a shop assistant.

Still at same address at least until 1980 per Ancestry.

In 1977 there's a Christopher Stanley Paul Jay at a different house in Murray Street - possibly a son ??.
In 1980 Christopher's at another address in Moruya, with a Margaret Jane.

PMs from Cedric yesterday (but which I didn't find until today) re my query on 26 May @ 21:09 about the name Edwards in Cedric's original opening post:

"That was supposition on my part. My Grandmother Sarah didn`t share much and I assumed all the children were from the same stock. It was only a day ago that I learned of Stanley. "

"I have updated the original with more information that is more likely to be accurate. "

The 'RYERSON INDEX' (on-line) shows Stanley JAY died 11/5/1998 (78ys) 'late of Moruya' (NSW) death notice in 'Southern Star (Moruya)' 13/5/1998.

An 'Obituary' was in 'Southern Star (Moruya)' 27/5/1998

The 'NSW State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service -ask them to check those newspaper notice/s for family names etc. They also check electoral rolls (past & present) so hopefully you can trace any family members.

The 'National Library of Aus' (on-line) also offers same 'Ask a Librarian' service - you could ask them to check those newspapers -(one of these Libraries MAY charge fees -but not the other)

I noticed (NSW/BDM) Stanley JAY married Rita Margaret Mehl at Moruya 1950

Changed the surname with no explanation or apology. And the father’s name!
Originally the father was George Edwards, a WW1 casualty

You called him Stanley Edwards, Cedric.
Why is that? It seems unlikely that he would have taken his mother's first husband's name.
