Archie Sayer married Lilian Pacey in (Oct=Dec) 1917.
Lilian died in 1978 with a date of birth 18.1.1893

Can anyone find them on the 1939 census living in the North East possible Teeside area.
Thanking in advance

First name(s) Last name(s) Birth year DOB Sex Occupation Marital status Schedule Schedule Sub Number

Archie Sayer 1894 24 Sep 1894 Male Iron Works Labourer Married 172 1
Lilian Sayer 1893 18 Jan 1893 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Married 172 2
The record for this person is officially closed. Can I get around this?

Ref: RG101/3249G/012/27 Letter Code: JGIW

4 The Cottages Kirklea Town, Redcar M.B., Yorkshire (North Riding), England

The associated map shows the address to be in Dormanstown nr Redcar
Notes on the image says that Archie was in the A F S at Redcar.....
The closed image is possibly for a female as there something just visible where date of name changes is noted. 'Her' first name contains a letter which goes below the line.

Edit - the closed record could be for Margaret b 1924, (additional info deleted as she maybe living - MiL b 1924 is still limping along!)

Many thanks for you assistance. This solves who I was looking for.

I do not know if Margaret is still alive as I have not yet researched the family of rchie and Lilian.

Alternative scenario for Margaret (and I may well be wrong) -

I think Margaret may have married a Marshall in 1944 in Cleveland reg district. Cleveland includes Redcar where the Sayer family were in 1939.

Then I think they had two children - Pauline 1945 Cleveland, and Kevin 1950 Cleveland.

I think Pauline married a Dawson in 1963 Sheffield reg district, and, sadly, may have died in 2006 in Rotherham RD.

Margaret and her husband (or at least the couple who married in 1944) were living in Skipton in 1947-1949.
I don't see their deaths definitively.

Have edited earlier post to remove Margaret's registration district.
