Hi all,
I am trying to find further information about Thomas hart (born Salford 1853). I know that he married Mary Jane (don’t know maiden name) in 1877 she was born 1854 in Belfast.
I am a platinum member and paid extra for parish records but not sure where you search the parish record- can’t see it on the site.
First night as a member and becoming addicted to it again...
any help would be appreciated

You''ll probably find looking at freebmd for marriages is quicker to start with,
https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl try this one
You'll be able to confirm maiden name by looking for any children they had in census, and cross checking with the GRO birth index.

Marriages Sep 1877 (>99%)
Hart Thomas Salford 8d 207
HIGGINS Mary Jane Salford 8d 207

I don't know about parish records on GR - they probably come under births, deaths, or marriages, under "Search" at top right of this page.

Few of the helpers on here use GR for looking at records.

So this will be their son's birth:

HART, GEORGE HENRY mms HIGGINS

Therefore Mary Jane's surname was Higgins.

And I see Rambling has posted Thomas &Mary J's marriage above.

You need to buy a copy of the marriage cert to find out Thomas's father's name.

Thanks so much for all of this really appreciate it. I’m not certain of the date as could be the year before. The census of 1911 was a match thank you.
