I am currently looking for some info on Charles Henry Taylor.

Born in Peckham in 1910, to Charles Taylor and his wife Amy Pratt.

I have found a record of his baptism for 27/09/1914.

He was my dads uncle with a brother William(my grandad) and 2 sisters Amy and Edith.

Any update post 1914 will be gratefully received.

Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the boards, Philip.

His birth, for his full name, which might help us:

TAYLOR, CHARLES HENRY ERNEST mms PRATT
GRO Reference: 1910 J Quarter in CAMBERWELL Volume 01D Page 906

Do you have a copy of his birth cert, for exact date of birth?

Doesn't help with Charles - posting just because I came across it -

Sister Amy's death:

Deaths Jun 1934 (>99%)
Taylor Amy F 26 Bermondsey 1d 105

And presumably sister Edith's birth:

Births Dec 1919 (>99%)
Taylor Edith Pratt St.Olive 1d 302

Unfortunately, if he didn't use his middle name Ernest, it's impossible to pick him out from the large number of Charles H Taylors born approx 1910 in later records - though I hope somebody will prove me wrong.

Thank you Argllgran.

All the info I have is listed in the op.

Its been one of the biggest mysteries ive come across whilst doing my tree. I only hope that he pops up on the 1921 census when that gets released in 2022.

The christening record doesn't have the third name Ernest but has birthdate 23 Feb. 1910.

Doesn't help with Charles but here's his Mum and sister and your grandfather in 1939. Not seeing Charles (searched using DOB on his baptism) but he may have already enlisted.

Are you sure he lived to adulthood please?

There is this death, so I wondering if he was baptised at 4 years of age because he was ill.

Death of the above child?

Surname Given Name Age District Volume Page
Deaths Dec 1914
Taylor Florence E E 0. St.Olave 1d 182

The district St.Olave is an alternative name for St Olave Bermondsey and it is in the county of London.

EDIT

Note the page number for the above death and the Charles that I posted ..... only a few pages between them. Unless you know differently, I think that's likely your Charles.
