Try googling for Parrocks Lodge, Chard. Parrocks Lane runs off the main A358 road in Tatworth, almost opposite the Church and the lodge is off there to the right. Might it be worth you getting in touch with a local family history group or similar. Looks as though the Lodge and it's outbuildings have been converted to various homes now.

Just one of the references that show up when you google, another site has a photo of the old building - you may already have done this.

The local church may have some information on the family -

https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Tatworth_Village/Settlement includes -
Up to the time of The Great Exhibition in 1851, Tatworth had been considered a hamlet, this was prior to the chapel being built, about the same time the Langdon’s of Pattocks Lodge arrived in the now new village… to present an east and south window to the new chapel. Tatworth was raised to the status of ‘village’ when the chapel was built – and then higher still when the school was built twenty years later. Tatworth that year covered an area of 1552 acres and had a population of 852.

Thanks SylvianCanada and Greyghost

It has been written that the family lived in Parrocks Lodge for around 100years and that the family owned it. Jphn Churchill Langfon was a Gentleman and they were a well to do family.

I am planning a visit to Chard and I was just trying to pinpoint exactly where they lived.

Thanks again for helping me

Their address is Tatworth, Somerset as is every other household. Tatworth is a village 2 miles south of Chard. There would appear to be around 80 Inhabited dwellings

Just out of interest, and for future reference ...............

I've never seen a house number on the 1841 Census. I have seen names of farms and of big houses and sometimes other buildings associated with a big house.

Jane

Jane Report 15 Jun 2020 19:21

On the 1881 census does it say where they were living. Familysearch does not seem to be giving house numbers anymore.
Thank you for helping.

No house numbers are recorded.

To find if the other family is connected, you'll need to research them both using Parish Records
