ArgyllGran Report 7 May 2023 18:05

The 1910 death in Godstone is of a 42-year-old woman. That doesn't fit with Julia's age as stated in 1901 - but the census info isn't necessarily accurate.:

Oh I am so lost! I found Julia Stevens on Florence, her daughters, birth cert and christening. I have Florence’s birth cert. I am drawing a blank on where she went after she was born!! She is not on the 1901 census with her elder sister Lydia and her parents so where was she? i have done an open search but am having no luck at all.

I also can find nothing for Julia Baldock nee Stevens. I have her being born, according to census of 1901, in Guildford, Surrey. I have her as parent to Lydia and then Florence and then…nowt! I did come across a 1911 census which shows her husband Harry Baldock, as a widower and then I found a Julia Baldock death in 1910 but I am not sure about whether it’s the right place. The place of death is Godstone Surrey so I guess she may have been visiting family etc maybe?

I also found Lydia on 1911 census as a patient in a poor house but nothing in same place for her younger sister Florence.

I know Florence married in Islington, London in 1919.

Really stuck and don’t know which way to go any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Julia Stevens B. c1871 Guildford, Surrey
Harry Baldock B. c1870 Edenbridge, Kent
Lydia Baldock B. c1893 Camberwell, Surrey
Florence Julia Baldock B. 1897 Bermondsey, Surrey

Thanks, sorry so long
Caroline
