Since 1st April 2023, there's no charge for copies of records held by the MOD.

Many records are now held by the National Archives, as the MOD is gradually transferring service records of people born in 1939 or earlier.

There may be a charge for records from the NA.

WW2 documents aren't available online. Have a read from this site of how to go about obtaining them.

https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-records-of-service/apply-for-your-own-records

there is a section on applying for the records of a deceased person.
