Find Ancestors

There seems to be so much mis-information of Annie Louisa Goodwin connected to my grandfather's sister's Goodwin family.
I have her birth as 11/11/1906 in Henley, Oxfordshire and marriage to Frederick Furr (sometimes Farr) in White Waltham, Berkshire on 5/8/1929. This is proved by a mention of her late father Henry and witness L Green, step sister. There is a record of an Annie's death in Dorsetshire in 2000!!!

The 39 Register shows her with Frederick and 3 records closed.
A later entry has her married name crossed out and the name Kett entered and dated 1947. ????. Her husband seems to have died in 1973 back in Hertforshire, where he was born. Records show a son Gordon Frederick born to them there in 1931. He seems to have married a Michal M Pool and had 3 children?.

Other records show Annie died in a Lunatic Asylum in Bedfordshire at 4 years of age!!! Her 2 other sister's records show they had normal lives.

Again, this has been a frustrating search. Can any of you help with the correct facts please?

A death certificate would say whose daughter she was

Am guessing you bought the marriage certificate to prove it’s the right lady

The Annie Louisa Kett on the 1939 registry was an Annie Louise Hammond single born 12 Jan 1920


So she isn’t the same lady

The Annie Louise who died in the lunatic asylum was 26 years old

She was in Barnsley house Asylum which is is bromsgrove not Bedfordshire as transcribed

Michal is still living, unless died since 2021, and her middle name (per Google and ER) shows she is clearly female. On ER to 2014, and property not sold since then.

Think the 1939 Register has been wrongly annotated with the surname Kett as found the actual one was Annie Louise Hammond who married in 1943

Thank you all so much. I could not be sure of what I had found, but all of you above have found what is correct from wrong transcriptions.
I had spent many hours trying to sort this out. And you all have replied so quickly!

Annie certainly moved around during her life. I wonder why she ended up in the west later in life.
