hi Could anyone please help I’m looking for Birthplace & Parents of Laura Morton bc1891 & David Spink bc1892 they married in Dewsbury West Riding of Yorkshire in 1912
On 1939 Register they are living at 4 Westmoreland Terrace Crofton with children

Find them in 1911…..or buy copy marriage cert for names of each of their fathers - if they knew them

Look for them in 1921 for birthplaces

1921 census says she was born Heckmondwike….he was born Walsall

Check out FreeBMD. There are two possibles for Laura registered birth in Sheffield and only one for David Spink registered Walsall in 1891

Added. Unless you can track down a baptism only the birth certificate will give you a place of birth.

How did you manage to find them on the 1939 Register? Incidentally, that gives exact DoB’s, so no need for you to be unsure about when they were born

Find their births on the FREE to all GRO site which gives MMN, so you can look on freebmd for marriages of parents…………..

Heckmondwike comes under Dewsbury registration district

Look for both of them in 1911 on the same site you used to find them in 1939

Use that info to look for births…….not sure why you didn’t give us the dates in your OP :-S :-S

In 1911, David was boarding in Liversedge, so you need 1901 for parents unless you do the research using GRO and freebmd

Try familysearch…….earlier censuses are FREE there

JAS 1891 birth may well be David’s……..got the right day and month in 1939, but the wrong year.

BUT………if you want an accurate tree, you can’t manage without certs. You can probably download a limited version of the birth cert on the GRO site for only £3
