Hi Folks
I have a George Towgood of Bristol b.1637 married a Mary Clutterbuck b,c,1639,
I have found a lot on Mary's family but nothing on George's family.
They could of had 4 children.
Even the Burke's Commoners V2 page 226 doe's not mention any thing else.
There is also a James Towgood of Skipton in Craven married 1754 to Elizabeth Trappes-Byrnand. Once again plenty of Info on Elizabeth but nothing on James, Burke's Commoners V3 page 524.
Any info on George and James would be great.
Thats all I have at this stage.

As you have found it is difficult to track ‘ordinary’ people that far back.

Have you tried the local archives and where else have you looked?

You say that James was ‘of’’ Skipton in Craven - do you have evidence that he was born there? Or is that simply where he married?
