Hello. We are particularly seeking those Barton descendants who know their Barton heritage back to the 1700s or earlier to help us establish the "backbone" of English Bartons. We already have more than 40 families on our British Isles page, but need to include many more before it starts to become "complete". (We have been using this approach for the past three years and have a pretty good definition of the US Bartons. With your help, we can now do the same for England and other countries where Bartons have thrived.) We also warmly welcome every Barton researcher to use our site in conjunction with Genes Reunited and other resources, as we we seek to fully define the Barton family world-wide. We will list your Barton family by Earliest known ancestor, you as researcher, and add your Barton family to our 22,000 plus database. (We'll do this even if you only know your line back to the early 1900s.) Hopefully, between our approach of listing earliest known ancestors and Genes Reunited approach of matching individuals in a tree, we can make a success of this effort.
